Awful choices, awful reproductions,

I love J.W.M. Turner. I've seen his paintings in the Tate Gallery in London. No matter how blurry or gauzy his technique, his painting always have clarity and depth. His handling of light is exquisite.
I had high hopes of this calendar. I'd very much enjoyed the same publisher's Edward Hopper calendar.
I could not regret the purchase more. On Amazon's website, in even the larger image of the back of the calendar, one can't tell which paintings are chosen, nor how well they're reproduced. Now I know: the calendar has none of Turner's most famous paintings -- "Rain, Steam, and Speed," "The Slave Ship" -- and the reproductions of the painting it does have are muddy. Even directly under a bright, true-color work lamp, the reproductions are indistinct and flat.
I'll think twice about buying from this publisher in the future.
